David Jeusette

In 2011, David co-founded Djengo, a B2B product dedicated to companies providing an efficient way to plan the day-to-day mobility of the employees. The latter are able to easily share their home-work trips through the platform. Djengo has been implemented using Ruby on Rails and Javascript libraries to provide a good user experience.

In 2013, David co-founded and launched Djump, a mobile application that helps you quickly get around the city thanks to a fresh community of handpicked drivers. Djump was a mobile-first application available on the App Store and Google Play. Both mobile applications were developed with native technologies (i.e. iOS and Android) while the back-end was written with Javascript (Node.js) using some architectural patterns to optimize scalability (i.e CQRS and Event-sourcing). The product was deployed in large Belgian and French cities.

As a CTO in these startups, David learned a lot and continues to learn from his team and co-founders. David's fellow workers that were in direct contact with the customers set the priorities and report the problems. David's role was to lead the technical team. To carry out this role, he took the priorities into account, set the goals and took the technical decisions. Flexibility (i.e. the capacity to evolve quickly) is key in a startup. It requires a level of organisation. Therefore he adopted the Scrum methodology and other Agile methods and established some code conventions.

Finally, David likes to pay special attention to technical choices as finding the right tool for the job is critical and may have a large impact on the product.
